Monrovia’s collection of grape vines features three distinct varieties for home gardens, all of which were developed by breeding the European grape, Vitis vinifera, with a wild American native grape, V. labrusca. The vines can grow up to twenty-five feet per year and are perfect for shade arbors, gateways and fence lines. Grape vines also have great fall color!
Catawba Grape -Features medium-sized clusters of round, dull purple-red berries
-Ripens late in the season
-Perfect for wine, juice, jams and jellies
Eastern Concord Grape -Features medium-sized clusters of aromatic, blue-black grapes -Harvest late-August to September -Skin separates easily from the fruit -Great for juices, jams, jellies and wine -Known for producing sweet after dinner wines!
Niagara Grape -Features large, full clusters of medium to large green-gold berries -These sweet, juicy grapes are prefect for eating because they’re seedless! -Also great for juice and jellies
