Monrovia’s Sugar & Spice Tiarella

New to our garden center this year, Monrovia’s cultivar Sugar & Spice is quite possibly their best tiarella ever!  We love its intricate, glossy green leaves which feature eye-catching purple-pink centers.  The leaves take on a lacquered appearance and their color can be enjoyed from summer through winter. The Sugar & Spice Tiarella flowers early spring to early summer with an abundance of lightly fragrant white flowers with pink frosted buds.  This attractive perennial can be used as a groundcover and is perfect for brightening up woodland edges, flower beds, borders and mixed container gardens.  The Sugar & Spice Tiarella should be planted in full to partial shade (Fully grown foliage height: 8” Foliage spread: 11”).  Available at Stein Gardens & Gifts late April to early May in 1-Gallon Pots ($12.99 ea.)

Monrovia’s Declaration Lilac

One look at the Declaration Lilac and you’ll know why it stands out from the rest.  Its fragrant and dramatic clusters of reddish-purple flowers are sure to dazzle any landscape.  Developed by the National Arboretum in Washington DC, Declaration Lilac is one of only two lilacs released by the arboretum since the Betsy Ross Lilac in 2000.  At maturity, this deciduous shrub will grow 8-9 feet tall by 6-7 feet wide in an open, upright habit.  Declaration Lilacs are perfect for shrub borders, hedges or mass plantings.  Available at Stein Gardens & Gifts late April in both 1-Gallon ($16.99) and 5-Gallon ($39.99) Pots.
